AbstractThis community service program aimed to improve students’ competence in reference management using the Mendeley application to enhance the quality of scientific writing. The activity involved 40 students and was conducted through lectures, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and evaluation stages. A pre-test was administered to measure initial understanding of reference management and Mendeley usage. The results indicated that only 27.5% of participants were able to create automatic citations and bibliographies, while most students still managed references manually. After the training, post-test results showed significant improvement: 100% of participants were able to install Mendeley and generate automatic citations and bibliographies, and 65% successfully installed the MS Word plugin and Web Importer. The findings demonstrate that structured training combined with direct practice effectively improves students’ digital literacy and academic writing skills. Therefore, integrating Mendeley training into academic programs can support students in producing higher-quality scientific work aligned with publication standards.
